Wild Horizons

By LokiLovesInktober

I've created this page because I want to help protect nature and our planet!

I'm inspired by the work of WWF-Australia, so I wanted to raise money to help the cause!

Bushfires, deforestation, and climate change are pushing our most iconic species - and the incredible landscapes they call home - to the brink. Koalas are losing their homes. Our oceans are under threat, with marine life struggling to survive in polluted waters. Entire ecosystems are collapsing under the pressure of a rapidly changing climate.

But we can change this - with your help🐨🌿By donating to my page you’re not just supporting me, you’re helping to restore habitats, protect endangered species, and create a healthier planet for future generations.

This October, I’m combining art and action by running my 5th annual art challenge, #LokiLovesInktober2025, in support of WWF-Australia.
Together, we’ll create daily artworks that celebrate Australia’s incredible threatened species and raise funds to protect the places they call home. From koalas losing their habitat to forests and oceans under threat, our species need us more than ever. And while we learn and take action for wildlife, creating art each day also gives us space to slow down, nurture our wellbeing, and reconnect with our own creativity. By joining in — or donating — you’ll be helping to restore forests, protect endangered species, and inspire hope for a wilder, healthier planet 🐨🌿🎨 Join in at LOKILOVES.COM - Thank you for your support.

The challenge is big. But so is our hope. Let’s turn heartbreak into action.

Help me raise funds for a future where wildlife thrives, forests grow, and oceans are full of life 🌳🐳🐨🌄

Thank you so much!

🌏 Art for nature’s future

Sunday 23rd Nov
Art has the power to move people, not just emotionally, but into action.

Through #LokiLovesInktober2025: Wild Horizons, artists from across Australia and beyond have united to use their creativity for conservation. What began as a month-long art challenge celebrating our wild places and threatened species has grown into something truly special, a fundraising art sale where 100% of proceeds are donated to WWF-Australia.

Each artwork tells a story of connection: to land, to life, and to the beauty we stand to lose. By purchasing a piece, you are not only taking home something beautiful, you are helping protect and restore habitats for wildlife across Australia and around the world through WWF’s Regenerate Nature by 2030 plan, a bold global vision to rewild, restore, and regenerate our planet.

Studies have shown that surrounding yourself with nature-inspired art can reduce stress, boost mood, and increase feelings of calm, creativity, and wellbeing. It helps us feel more connected to the world around us, even from within our homes. So it's all of the good feels 😌

This fundraiser is a celebration of what happens when art and purpose intertwine. It is proof that creativity can help heal the Earth, inside and out.

Why your art matters

Thursday 30th Oct
The wild world needs our art, our voices, our action and when we bring them together, we help create a world where nature can heal, where species can thrive, and where we ourselves can reconnect and be uplifted.

When we pick up our pencils, brushes, or inks and begin to sketch one of Australia’s threatened species, we’re doing more than capturing a beautiful creature or plant. We are acknowledging something vital: each species is a thread in the fabric of our landscapes, our histories, our well-being. They matter in ways that ripple out through ecosystem, community and our creative lives.

Take any one species from the 2025 #LokiLovesInktober list: whether it’s a small insect, a glider, a parrot or a reef-dweller, each holds a place in the ecosystem — perhaps as a pollinator, a soil-mover, a predator balancing pests, or simply as a living symbol of the wild places that sustain us. When we lose species, those functions erode, our landscapes become weaker, less resilient. According to WWF Australia, more than 570 of our native animals are at risk of extinction.

This is exactly why the Regenerate Nature by 2030 strategy matters. WWF Australia is calling for us to restore and regenerate our lands, skies and seas.

Our threatened species sit at the heart of that work: when we protect and restore species, we restore the living systems they depend on, and the living systems that depend on them.

Pick one species on your list. Zoom in on its role, its threats, its world. Ask: What does this species tell us about how our landscapes are connected? Share your art. Support organisations (like WWF Australia) that champion species recovery. And consider that by drawing, painting, writing, sharing, you’re adding life to the story of regeneration.
